Huchem Stone & Concrete Impregnator is a water-based impregnating agent based on siloxanes and silanes. Water-based means that no harmful solvents are used, making the product safe and easy to apply. It is also resistant to UV radiation and breathable.
What can I impregnate with it?
The impregnating agent can be used on all kinds of masonry and ceramic materials, such as:
- Brick walls and facades
- Concrete and aerated concrete
- Decorative paving
- Roof tiles
- Sandstone
- Masonry and render
- Marble and natural stone
How do I apply the impregnating agent?
Before you start: do not apply at temperatures below 5°C. Repair any damage to the facade or wall first. Pointing and repaired areas must dry for at least 3 days. Make sure the wall, facade or floor is clean before you start. If necessary, clean it first with Huchem Wall & Facade Cleaner or Scrubbing Soap.
Application
Shake before use. Apply the impregnating agent undiluted to a clean, dry surface with a pressure sprayer, by flooding (on floors), with a paint roller or with a wide brush. Work from the bottom up. Applying two coats wet on wet gives the best result. Remove splashes on paintwork and windows as quickly as possible.
How much do I need?
We are often asked how many litres are needed per square metre, and the answer is that it varies greatly depending on the surface. On average, consumption is 0.2 to 0.5 litres per m2. If the surface is highly porous and absorbent, such as (aerated) concrete, allow for the higher end. For brick you can allow about 0.3 litres per m2, but this also differs per type. For marble and natural stone you often need a little less. It is better to have slightly too much than too little.
What do I do with leftover impregnating agent?
You can easily store the Stone & Concrete Impregnator and re-treat the surface 1 to 2 years later. The absorption will be much lower because it has already been treated, so you will need less. You can also use the remainder to impregnate your driveway or patio tiles, which will then get dirty less quickly and suffer less from green deposits.
