Propylene Glycol 40% (to -21°C) - MPG | 1000L IBC (for cooling and heating systems)

Information

Special propylene glycol, Axti Temp P, for cooling and heating installations. This product is based on hygroscopic, environmentally compatible propylene glycol. It contains inhibitors and low-foaming additives against rust and limescale deposits and is non-corrosive, protecting the inner walls of pipework against corrosion and product ageing, including aluminium pipework. The liquid can be added without problems to systems already filled with a propylene glycol based coolant. It is virtually odourless, slightly sticky, mixes well with demineralised water and is non-volatile.

This IBC is supplied ready mixed with class A demineralised water at the stated concentration, so it can be used directly without further dilution.

Mixing ratios

• 20% product, 80% demineralised water = protection down to -6°C
• 30% product, 70% demineralised water = protection down to -13°C
• 40% product, 60% demineralised water = protection down to -21°C
• 50% product, 50% demineralised water = protection down to -33°C
• 60% product, 40% demineralised water = protection down to -57°C

Features

• Excellent antifreeze and frost protection: the 40% mix keeps liquids flowing at lower temperatures (down to -21°C), so pipework, heat exchangers and systems stay frost-free
• High chemical and thermal stability: propylene glycol is a clear, colourless and odourless liquid with low volatility, mixes well with water and is therefore suitable for a wide range of industrial and technical applications
• Safer alternative to ethylene glycol: because propylene glycol is considerably less toxic than ethylene glycol, it is often recommended in systems where indirect contact with (potential) drinking water is possible, such as solar collectors or installations in agricultural or food-related environments
• Protection against corrosion and limescale: this industrial glycol contains additives and inhibitors that help protect pipework and components (including aluminium and metal pipework) against corrosion and ageing during long-term use
• Versatile: suitable for heating, cooling, air conditioning, heat pump systems, solar energy installations, industrial machinery, cooling circuits, HVAC and other technical installations where frost protection or heat transfer is needed

Inhibitors and extra protection

Our glycol products in concentrations of 30%, 40%, 50% and 100%, both mono ethylene glycol (MEG) and mono propylene glycol (MPG), are supplied as standard with a basic package of inhibitors. These inhibitors help protect the installation against corrosion and acidification. If you want the glycol without basic inhibitors, please state this clearly when ordering. Depending on the application, the materials used and the conditions in the installation, additional protection may be needed; extra inhibitors can be added to the glycol on request.

Important return information for glycols

Because we always aim for the highest quality, there are some situations in which we cannot accept returns:

• Special glycol percentages produced on request that are not part of our standard range cannot be returned
• Opened cans or IBCs are not taken back, as we can no longer guarantee the quality
• Glycol mixed with dye produced at your request cannot be returned
