Solar Propylenglycol
What is solar glycol used for?
Solar glycol is used as a heat transfer fluid in solar thermal systems, for example a solar water heater. A common problem in these systems is wear caused by limescale and rust. Using solar glycol prevents this and considerably extends the service life of the system. These glycols are used in the heating, cooling and HVAC industries.
Applications of solar glycol
Huchem supplies special solar glycol for solar thermal and HVAC installations. It contains inhibitors and additives against rust and limescale and is non-corrosive. The product is virtually odourless and slightly viscous, mixes well with water and is not volatile. Axti Temp Solar is colourless and transparent as standard, but can also be supplied in blue and red.
Advantages of this product
- Non-corrosive
- Inhibited against corrosion
Instructions for use
At a new start-up, drain the entire system and clean and flush it thoroughly. Then add the required amount of glycol. Let the system come up to operating temperature slowly and allow the air bubbles to escape. Top up the system to the required level if necessary.
Frost protection
- Axti Temp Solar -28: protection to -28°C
- Axti Temp Solar -57: protection to -57°C
Solar glycol is available in various pack sizes; for smaller users a 20 litre can is available from our webshop. Would you like a specific mixing ratio or quantity? Please contact us at [email protected].
Important returns information for glycols
We would like to point out some important conditions regarding the return of glycols. Because Huchem always strives for the highest quality, there are some situations in which we cannot accept returns:
- Special glycol percentages produced on request that are not part of our standard range cannot be returned.
- Opened cans or IBCs cannot be returned, as we can then no longer guarantee the quality.
- Glycol mixed with dye produced at your request cannot be returned either.
When in doubt, we therefore advise you to contact us before ordering glycol.
