Information
Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), also known as bleach liquor, is the sodium salt of hypochlorous acid. Huchem supplies sodium hypochlorite as a liquid product (12.5%) dissolved in water. Bleach liquor owes its effect to the interaction between chlorine and water, which is why it is often seen as a special form of chlorine. Sodium hypochlorite is widely used to prevent the growth of unwanted organisms in swimming pools, and is also suitable for disinfecting toilets and bathrooms or for use in dental practices.

Directions for use for disinfection
First clean the surfaces and materials to be disinfected thoroughly (rinse off any cleaning agent used with clean water). Then remove the excess water. Dilute the product with water to the working concentration. After the contact time, treated surfaces, appliances, materials and pipework must be rinsed thoroughly with clean water. When using a sprayer, do so at low pressure (3 to 8 bar).
Shelf life
This depends on the production date and when it is ordered. In general, shelf life varies depending on storage conditions. Chlorine / sodium hypochlorite normally has a shelf life of about 6 months to 1 year when stored at room temperature in a dark place and in a well-closed container. It is important to keep the product out of direct sunlight and heat, as these factors can accelerate the breakdown of chlorine.
