What is glycol?

Glycols are synthetic, liquid chemicals made from crude oil and natural gas. Glycol is easily miscible with water and is used, among other things, as an antifreeze.

With a good quality glycol antifreeze fluid, you ensure that your refrigerator and freezer are not affected by rust and limescale buildup. Without the use of glycols, these problems will quickly arise. Using glycol significantly increases the lifespan of a refrigerator or freezer. Glycol can be used in virtually all types of refrigeration systems. If this is not the case, this is often indicated.

There are two types of glycol: propylene and ethylene. Huchem can supply these glycols quickly, in various units and mixing ratios. Huchem can also supply pure glycol if desired (see Axti Temp P 100% and Axti Temp E 100%). Both types of glycol are explained in more detail below.

Types of Glycol

At Huchem, we sell two types of glycol: propylene glycol and ethylene glycol. While ethylene glycol is only suitable for use in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, propylene glycol is also suitable for the food processing industry. Different glycol sizes

Depending on your industry, it's useful to order large quantities. For example, in the shipping industry, we often find it desirable to have larger quantities on board for refrigeration systems. We're happy to help you determine your required quantity. In our webshop, we offer volumes from 20 liters to 1000 liters. If you require even larger quantities, please contact us.
