Information
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is a clear, non-toxic, and safe, highly pure 32.5% urea solution in demineralized water. It is injected directly into the exhaust gas where it acts as a reducing agent for harmful substances. This releases ammonia, which then reacts with the harmful nitrogen oxides in the catalytic converter to form elemental nitrogen and water. Both nitrogen and water are natural components of the air we breathe every day. This allows the amount of harmful oxides in emissions to be reduced by 85%.
AdBlue is part of a future-proof concept for reducing exhaust emissions. By combining environmental friendliness and cost-effectiveness, AdBlue meets all EURO 5 and 6 targets.
Note: This AdBlue can does not include the standard cap size. For example, our cap valves won't fit here.
What is AdBlue® needed for?
In combination with the SCR system, AdBlue® reduces toxic nitrogen oxides in diesel engine exhaust gases to steam and elemental nitrogen, a natural component of the atmosphere. Commercial vehicles equipped with SCR technology can comply with European exhaust emission standards.
AdBlue® Quality
We produce AdBlue® according to the strictest VDA requirements. Good AdBlue® quality is crucial for keeping the catalytic converter in top condition. Poor-quality AdBlue® is often characterized by an excessively high level of insoluble particles. These particles can be traced back to impure demineralized water. Limescale, for example, can lead to wear or clogging of AdBlue injectors or nozzles. That's why you should choose Huchem's AdBlue®.
How does AdBlue work?
AdBlue is injected into the SCR system's catalytic converter, where it initiates a chemical reaction with the ammonia. This chemical reaction converts the toxic nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O). Water vapor and nitrogen are naturally occurring gases that are harmless to the environment.
